Senior .Net Developer
Location: Jacksonville Florida
6 months project
Senior VB.NET developer with a strong background in building scalable, predictable, high-quality and high-performance web applications on the Microsoft technology stack. Responsible for remediating legacy systems to satisfy business requirements changes and interfacing with PLC's/scanners/printers/ chip writing devices. This consultant would be under direct supervision and guidance of a company Project Manager / Technology Lead.
Key responsibilities include:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a Technology Lead and Project Manager
· Critically evaluate legacy applications with assistance from technical SME's.
· Strong analytical and time management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret technical needs and translate them into application structuring.
· Be the liaison between the application entity, database team, and management.
· Unit testing and Integration testing. Assist in writing test plans and qualifying the new system.
Required Functional and Technical skills:
· Six(+) years experience as a developer (lead developer would be a plus).
· Six(+) years experience with VB.NET
· Two(+) years experience with integrating with hardware devices
· Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and computer science foundations, such as memory management and low-level algorithm performance.
· Deep knowledge of the .NET 3.5/4.0 Framework, including Visual Studio 2008, VB.NET, ASP.NET.
· Strong knowledge of software implementation best practices.
· Strong experience designing and working with n-tier architectures (UI, Business Logic Layer, Data Access Layer).
· Ability to design and optimize Oracle PL-SQL stored procedures.
Education:
· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related area is preferred.
· Microsoft Certification a plus.
