Job Title: Java Applications Developer with ASP.Net Experience
Location: Helena, MT
Duration: 12 Months (Starting June 2014)
Job Description:
The Computer Application Engineer's (CAE) primary duty will be the requirements gathering, programming, systems testing, deployments and creation of user/system documentation on various systems within DOJ.
Responsibilities:
• Fix new and existing bugs/design and implement enhancements in all layers of the application
• Performance tuning
• Test changes in all affected layers
• Document changes and important workings of the application
• Deploy changes at regular intervals
• Collaborate with customer to clarify requirements of the desired change or provide feedback
• Produce status reports
Skills Requirements:
• Technical Skills:
o Programming Languages: Java, JSP, XML, XSL, XML Schema, (X)HTML, JavaScript, C#, VBScript, ASP/ASP.NET, PL/SQL, T/SQL, VB/VB.NET
o Eclipse, Netbeans, PL/SQL Developer, SQL plus, XMLSpy, CVS, SVN, and SoapUI
o Web/App Servers: JBoss, Oracle AS, Tomcat
o Frameworks/APIs: Hibernate, JPA, EJB, XMLBeans
o Operating Systems: UNIX, Linux, Microsoft Windows
• Behavioural Skills
o Proactive personality; Proactively learn about problem and research solutions
o Ability to learn quickly
o Work independently yet know when to ask questions
o Careful, methodical, yet timely style of obtaining a firm grasp of the business and code logic behind the original design before making changes
o Strong communication skills: Communicate effectively with co-workers, customers, and management; Communicate well with people of varied technical levels; Notify others in advance if
timelines are not going to be met; Follow up to make sure expectations are met
o Actively listens, probes, understands

Knowledge & Experience:
• Minimum of five years of experience in the above listed Technical Skills is highly preferred
• Minimum of ten years of varied system development experience is highly preferred
Educational Requirements:
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Five years of varied system development experience may be substituted for the degree requirements (above and beyond the ten years necessary in the knowledge and experience section)
