ആലസ്യമാകുന്ന നിദ്രയില്‍ ആണ്ടു കിടക്കുന്ന മാനവരാശിയെ തട്ടിയുണര്‍ത്തി മാനസികവും ശാരീരികവും ആത്മീയവുമായ ഉത്തേജനമേകാനാണ് വര്‍ഷത്തില്‍ ഒരിക്കല്‍ ശിവരാത്രി എത്തുന്നത്. ക്ഷണികമായ എല്ലാത്തില്‍ നിന്നും മനസിനെ പിന്തിരിപ്പിച്ച് ഭക്ഷ്യപാനീയങ്ങളെ ഒരുദിവസമെങ്കിലും ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് നിദ്രയേയും ആലസ്യത്തേയും കൈവെടിഞ്ഞ് ഭയം, ക്രോധം, കാമം, മദം, മല്‍സരം എന്നീ മനോവികാരങ്ങളെ കഴുകി കളഞ്ഞ് ശുഭവും ദൈവികവുമായ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ മാത്രം ചിന്തിച്ച് കഴിയാനാണ് ശിവരാത്രി വ്രതം കൊണ്ട് നമ്മെ ഓര്‍മ്മിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. വ്യക്തിക്കും കുടുംബത്തിനും ശാന്തിയും ആനന്ദവും സമഭാവനയും കൈവരിക്കാന്‍ ശിവരാത്രി അനുഷ്ഠാനത്തിലൂടെ സാധിക്കും.

കുംഭമാസത്തിലെ കൃഷ്ണപക്ഷ ചതുര്‍ദര്‍ശി മഹാശിവരാത്രി. പഞ്ചാക്ഷരി മന്ത്രങ്ങളാല്‍ ഭക്തലക്ഷങ്ങള്‍ മഹാദേവനെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്ന പുണ്യദിനമാണ് ശിവരാത്രി. കോശ ശ്രോതസുകളായ സൂര്യന്‍,ചന്ദ്രന്‍, അഗ്നി എന്നിവയെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിക്കുന്ന ഭഗവാന്റ മൂന്നു നേത്രങ്ങള്‍ ഉള്ളതിനാല്‍ മുക്കണ്ണനായി. പുലിത്തോലണിഞ്ഞവനും പന്നഗഭൂഷണനനും ഭസ്മാലംകൃതനുമായ ശിവന്‍ ത്യാഗത്തിന്റെയും വൈരാഗ്യത്തിന്റെയും ആത്മജ്ഞാനത്തിന്റെയും മൂര്‍ത്തിയായ ജഗത്ഗുരുവും ജഗത്പതിയുമാണ്.

ലോകൈകനാഥനായ പരമശിവനു വേണ്ടി പാര്‍വതീദേവി ഉറക്കമിളച്ചു പ്രാര്‍ഥിച്ച രാത്രിയാണത്രേ ശിവരാത്രി. മാഘമാസത്തിലെ കൃഷ്ണപക്ഷ ചതുര്‍ദശി ദിവസമായിരുന്നു അത്. അതുകൊണ്ട് എല്ലാ കൊല്ലവും മാഘ മാസത്തിലെ കറുത്ത ചതുര്‍ദശി ദിവസം ഭാരതം മുഴുവന്‍ ശിവരാത്രി ആഘോഷിക്കുന്നു.

വ്രതാനുഷ്ഠാനത്തോടെയാണ് ഭക്തര്‍ ശിവരാത്രി കൊണ്ടാടുന്നത്. ചതുര്‍ദ്ദശി അര്‍ധരാത്രിയില്‍ വരുന്ന ദിവസമാണ് വ്രതം ആചരിക്കുന്നത്. മഹാദേവ പ്രീതിക്കായി നടത്തേണ്ട ഏറ്റവും ഉത്തമമായ വ്രതാനുഷ്ഠാനവും ഇതാണ്. ശിവരാത്രി നാളില്‍ ബ്രഹ്മമുഹൂര്‍ത്തത്തില്‍ എഴുന്നേറ്റ് സ്‌നാനാദി കര്‍മ്മങ്ങള്‍ ചെയ്ത് ഭസ്മം തൊട്ട് രുദ്രാക്ഷമാല അണിഞ്ഞ് ശിവസ്തുതികളും പഞ്ചാക്ഷരീ മന്ത്രങ്ങളും ജപിച്ച് ശിവക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ ദര്‍ശനം നടത്തുക. കഴിവതും ക്ഷേത്രത്തില്‍ തന്നെ കഴിച്ചു കൂട്ടുന്നതാണ് ഉത്തമം.

ശിവലിംഗത്തില്‍ ജലംകൊണ്ട് ധാര നടത്തുക, പുഷ്പങ്ങളും കൂവളത്തിലയും സമര്‍പ്പിക്കുക തുടങ്ങിയവയാണ് പ്രധാനം. രാത്രിയുടെ നാല് യാമങ്ങളിലായി പരമ്പരാഗതമായ രീതിയില്‍ ശിവാരാധന നടത്താറുണ്ട്. ആദ്യയാമത്തില്‍ ഈശാന മൂര്‍ത്തിയായ ഭഗവാനെ പാലില്‍ സ്‌നാനം ചെയ്യിച്ച് ആരാധിക്കുന്നു. രണ്ടാംയാമത്തില്‍ ആഘോര മൂര്‍ത്തിയായി തൈരുകൊണ്ടും മൂന്നാംയാമത്തില്‍ വാമദേവമൂര്‍ത്തിയായി നെയ്യുകൊണ്ടും അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്യുന്നു. അന്ത്യയാമത്തില്‍ സദ്യോജാത സ്വരൂപിയായ ഭഗവാനെ തേനില്‍ കുളിപ്പിച്ചും ആരാധന നടത്തുന്നു. ഗംഗാജലം, പാല് എന്നിവ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തും വില്വദളങ്ങളാലുള്ള മാലകളാലും സുഗന്ധദ്രവ്യങ്ങളാലും ആരാധന നടത്താറുണ്ട്. ജപം ആരതി, ഭജനഗാനങ്ങള്‍, നൈവേദ്യം തുടങ്ങിയവ അര്‍പ്പിച്ച് അവസാനം ഭക്തന്‍ തന്നെത്തന്നെ ഭഗവാന്റ കാല്‍ക്കല്‍ സമര്‍പിക്കുന്നു.

ശിവപുരാണത്തിലും കമ്പരാമായണത്തിലും ദേവീഭാഗവതത്തിലുമൊക്കെ ശിവരാത്രിയെപ്പറ്റി പരാമര്‍ശങ്ങളുണ്ട്. സൃഷ്ടികര്‍ത്താവായ ബ്രഹ്മാവും മഹാവിഷ്ണുവും തമ്മിലുണ്ടായ തര്‍ക്കവും യുദ്ധവുമാണ് ശിവപുരാണത്തിലെ ഐതിഹ്യത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന പൊരുള്‍. പാലാഴി മഥനവുമായ ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട കഥയാണ് ഇതിനുള്ളത്. ജരാനര ബാധിച്ച ദേവന്മാരുടെ ആരോഗ്യം വീണ്ടെടുക്കുന്നതിന് അമൃത് കടഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നതിന് മന്ഥര പര്‍വതത്തെ മത്തായും സര്‍പ്പശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ വാസുകിയെ കയറായും ഉപയോഗിച്ചു.

ദേവന്മാരും അസുരന്മാരും ചേര്‍ന്നുള്ള കടച്ചില്‍ പുരോഗമിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ വാസുകി കാളകൂട വിഷം ഛര്‍ദ്ദിച്ചു. വിഷം ഭൂമിയില്‍ പതിച്ചാല്‍ ഉണ്ടായേക്കാവുന്ന ദുരന്തം മുന്നില്‍ കണ്ട് പരമശിവന്‍ വിഷം പാനം ചെയ്തു. മഹാദേവന്റെ മഹാത്യാഗത്തെ സ്തുതിച്ച് ദേവഗണങ്ങള്‍ രാത്രി മുഴുവന്‍ ഉണര്‍ന്നിരുന്ന് ശിവഭജനം ചെയ്തുവെന്നാണ് ഐതിഹ്യം. ഇത് കമ്പരാമായണത്തിലാണുള്ളത്. അതിനാല്‍ കുംഭമാസത്തിലെ ചതുര്‍ദശി ദിവസം ശിവഭക്തര്‍ ആഹാരം കഴിക്കാതെ ഉറക്കമൊഴിച്ച് ശിവസങ്കീര്‍ത്തനം ചെയ്തു വ്രതമനുഷ്ഠിച്ചു. അതാണ് ശിവരാത്രിയായി കൊണ്ടാടുന്നത്.

[Lovers India] Macro traveling car Adventure photography

MACRO TRAVELING CAR ADVENTURE PHOTOGRAPHY

21 year old Kim Leuenberger is a Swiss photographer who manages to combine her passions brilliantly. She loves to travel and collect vintage cars and motorcycles. So she takes macro pictures of her little vehicles wherever she goes!

She started her Travelling Car Adventures about 3 years ago with a blue van, a gift from her parents. Kim said,“When I go on a photographic adventure, I always take one of my car with me, they are of all different sizes and sorts (Van, Beetles, Mini Cooper, Vespas). I love to play with their reflections, or put in some special background, in action.”

Kim also had to learn how to photograph from what she calls a “wormelish” view point – laying down and using the largest aperture she can – about 2. That way she gets her beloved cars in focus with softer backgrounds.

The result is a charming and unique record of her travels.

Kim’s love of photography began at a young age. Although she now uses a dSLR, she also has older analogue cameras in her collection, such is her love for all things vintage.

She is now living in London and studying at the University of the Arts where she hopes to obtain her BA in photography.
