Job Description:

 

·         Provides design recommendations based on long-term IT organization strategy.

·         Develops enterprise level application and custom integration solutions including major enhancements and interfaces, functions and features.

·         Uses a variety of platforms to provide automated systems applications to customers.

·         Provides expertise regarding the integration of applications across the business.

·         Determines specifications, then plans, designs, and develops the most complex and business critical software solutions, utilizing appropriate software engineering processes—either individually or in concert with project team.

·         Will assist in the most difficult support problems.

·         Develops programming and development standards and procedures as well as programming architectures for code reuse.

·         Has in-depth knowledge of state-of-the art programming languages and object-oriented approaches in designing, coding, testing and debugging programs.

·         Understands and consistently applies the attributes and processes of current application development methodologies.

·         Researches and maintains knowledge in emerging technologies and possible application to the business.

·         Viewed both internally and externally as a technical expert and critical technical resource across multiple disciplines.

·         Acts as an internal consultant, advocate, mentor and change agent. Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

·         Typically has 7 to 10 years of experience in multiple IT areas and 2–3 years of relevant architecture experience.

·         Requires advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems design and integration.

The customer needs to move out of a data center by 11/15. Several End User Compute (EUC) components, including Lync, will be migrating to their parent company's EUC environment in order to hand over control for EUC.

The person in this role is responsible for:
- Assessing the source Lync environment
- Understanding the target Lync environment
- Working with the target Lync owners to define any required changes to accommodate the additional users
- identify any end user impacts resulting from the migration
- work with the source and target owners to remediate as defined
- migrate Lync users
- decommission the source Lync environment

This resource will also be responsible for evaluating a complex file server and for collating the various end user changes from other towers into a coherent end user change process. Those responsibilities include:
- Assessing the Vault file server
- Working with identified owners of the processes using the file servers to identify impacts resulting from moving the server
- identify the best solution for moving the functionality out of the datacenter
- create and execute migration plans for the Vault server
- work with the other EUC towers to create a cohesive end user migration process
- participate in the migration process
- decommission the Vault file server

Skill Set:
- Minimum of 5 years extensive experience with OCS and Lync
- Experience migrating users to a new Lync environment
- Solid understanding of Windows file servers and controlling access at the folder and share levels
- Experience creating and executing end user migration instructions
- Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to
- create and execute detailed migration plans
- document remediation requirements and reasons
- create and conduct test plans

Candidate needs to be on site full time in the New York, NY office with occasional meetings in East Windsor, NJ. Actual expenses for travel from NY to East Windsor, if required, are acceptable.

 

Education:

·         BS in EE or CS or equivalent; MS in CS preferred.
