Title: Informatica Test Lead
Position: Philadelphia, PA
Duration: 6 – 12 months
JOB PURPOSE:
Represent the Solution Testing Team as a lead on cross-functional teams for testing Informatics' projects. In support of company projects and in partnership with the design/development teams, ensure test processes, practices, and standards are executed throughout cross-functional projects. Lead onshore and offshore staff performing complex system testing per the Informatics Test Strategy. Responsible to: plan test tasks and milestone events, estimate labor effort and durations, ensure test plan/script/Requirements Trace Matrix documents are properly prepared, oversee tests performed by onshore and offshore staff, perform hands-on testing if necessary, record results, oversee defect management and report status. Provide direction and consultation to the teams on the appropriate use of test processes and technologies. Train others on how to use testing tools and create test scripts. Participate in requirements meetings and determine the appropriate test strategy/approach for assigned projects. Receive tactical direction from management in the form of goals and objectives and translates these into specific desired results. Work with business staff and technology resources to identify resource requirements, potential problems and solutions.
The candidate will function as a test lead across functions in the following areas:
• Data Warehouse (AEDW)
• Informatics Business Intelligence (BI) applications
• Informatics external data feeds
• Informatics production enhancements and fixes
JOB DESCRIPTION/MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Leadership
• Ensures that all teams involved are trained in the skills and tools of test, test management, project management, and other required competencies of the test function.
• Participates in product readiness and establish fact based measures of test efficiency, effectiveness and product readiness.
• Develops, manages and executes test strategies for complex projects.
• Oversee the projects of both onshore and offshore Testers to meet practices and deliverables.
Testing
• Implements the test plan within the test architecture framework.
• Responsible for the creation, review, implementation and sign off on test plans for complex projects.
• Supports test activities in accordance with policies and standards.
• Drives test deliverables on a project basis being responsive to schedule and quality requirements.
• Reviews business and functional requirements.
• Implements test verification (e.g. Technical Reviews) and validation (e.g., Function Test or System Test) practices, standards, metrics, training, and processes.
• Responsible for the creation, review and sign off of test plans/strategies and test scripts.
• Manages a traceability matrix to map the test results back to the requirements.
• Partners with client groups to ensure that the testing strategy is understood, in use, that test prerequisites are completed, and that test outputs are analyzed.
