श्री दुर्गा का प्रथम रूप श्री शैलपुत्री हैं। पर्वतराज हिमालय की पुत्री होने के कारण ये शैलपुत्री कहलाती हैं। नवरात्र के प्रथम दिन इनकी पूजा और आराधना की जाती है।
सर्वस्वरूपे सर्वज्ञे सर्वशक्तिसमन्विते।
भयैभ्यस्त्राहि नो देवि दुर्गे देवि नमोऽस्तुते।।--
