India is known for its Spices. It is the main ingredient to add flavor in a dish. Indian cuisine is incomplete without the spices. It is also beneficial for health as well. Meats are the most common winter food all over. It is a high source of protein and nutrients. It helps people to stay warn in winter. Mutton, pork, beef, duck are the best served meat in winter. There are different ways to cook meat from traditional to continental. Soups and stews are the most cooked throughout winter.
Orange
Sweet juicy oranges are the most favorite fruit in winter. Thin-skinned oranges tend to be the juiciest types. There are varieties of oranges like Nagpur Oranges, Darjeeling Oranges, California Navel Oranges, Blood oranges and many more. Oranges are used in deserts and salads as well.
Nalen Gurer Sandesh
Winter is the season for sweet lovers. Nalen Gurer Sandesh, Bengals' most preferred desert is available only in winter. This mouth watery sweet is made out of Bengal Channa and Gur. The specialty of the Gur is that it is made out of dry dates. The balancing of channa and the fresh Gur is the main challenge for cooks. The solid looking Nolen Gurer Sandesh is soft and watery from inside. Its irresistible delicacy is well known in India.

Mince pie or minced pie is a small sweet pie served during Christmas season. It has different other names such as mutton pie, shrid pie and Christmas pie. The winter gets much sweeter with this pie.
